God is with us through all of the seasons.
As we move into Epiphany we worshipped together and then worked together to take down the Christmas decorations and repair Chrismons. We also enjoyed pizza, but no photos were taken! We were busy and hungry. Thanks to everyone that was able to stay!
Adults and kids traveled to serenade a few local members and community friends who are not able to get our very often. They were each so sweet to us and we loved every minute of caroling. Our voices might not have been the most "angelic" but our hearts were full of love! This was a holiday highlight for many of us.
Our congregation participated in a wonderful Christmas Program "Christmas Light Show" with volunteers of all ages helping us remember that the the true light and best gift of Christmas is Jesus. Following the service, Santa came to visit with goody bags for the kids. Then the Men's Brotherhood served a delicious feast of turkey, dressing and sides. Desserts were provided by multiple church members. Kids enjoyed playing outside. It was a beautiful day.
We had a fun time preparing for ADVENT! About 20 people came to help us decorate the tree with Chrismons and make the sanctuary festive! Kids and adults learned from older members about the symbols as the tree and grounds were prepared. Advent began on Sunday, November 30 and ends on Christmas Eve.

A huge THANK YOU to all who came and helped!
We had a great night of fun, fellowship and a great MOVIE under the stars. Families brought picnic meals and blankets. The Family Life Committee served popcorn, hot cocoa, chips and candy! This public movie showing was made possible by Compassion International an organization that helps toward ending child poverty.

PRAYERS AND SUPPORT FOR DYSON!
Several of our congregation members are friends with Dyson who is fighting hard to knock his cancer into remission.
Congregation members have been praying for Dyson, his family and friends. In addition several members bought tickets to the pork steak fundraiser meal and bake sale last week (11/13), and our Evangelism Committee made a donation on behalf of the church.
Lu F belongs to the Prayer Shawl Ministry at FMC Gonzales. She crocheted this shawl a while back without knowing who it would go to. Then when she heard about Dyson, she knew it was meant for him and gifted it! He’s using it in the hospital and his mom shared this photo! The shawl even matches his tablet cover! ❤️ His mom has also created our balloon arch decor for our VBS the last two years! The is a super sweet family and we wish them blessings and healing! Stay Strong! ➕
🩸Several Monthalia and Belmont church and community members donated during the Belmont Community Blood Drive. Thank you to Karen M, of Belmont Methodist for organizing this and to Goss Diamond A for hosting! Did you miss the blood mobile? You can still give blood by donating at one of these locations or searching online for the next mobile unit in our area by clicking here South Texas Blood and Tissue Center 🩸
Approximately 25 people from area churches met and prayed in a big circle. Seven members from Monthalia represented us: Kenneth and Sandra, Tel and Jinna plus their three kiddos and Traci.
Guest Minister Glenda Taylor originally from Belmont, Texas blessed us with a wonderful sermon based on scripture from John 6:26-40 . Her sermon made us hunger for more Biblical knowledge and for hot rolls! Do you know how many times "bread" is mentioned in the Bible?
Ms. Taylor is a seminarian with George W. Theological Seminary at Baylor. She serves at The Rock SA and The Rock Houston. She will be covering for Pastor Clyde when is called away at Army Drill. We look forward to having Minister Taylor and her family join us again!
A special duet was played today by our organist, Mrs. Cynthia and our pianist, Mrs. Lu. It was emotional for all of us! The two of them have been playing together for nearly 20 years!
Special thanks to the Siepmann Family for allowing us to use of their beautiful river bottom. Thank you to Jackie Sue for her beautiful and motivating music and to Kim Siepmann Fall for her amazing face painting skills (Kimsy Whimsy)! Thanks also to ALL of the volunteers who helped prepare and clean up! ❤️Click on each picture to view even more photos!
